Sportspray at the New Balance Power Run
Now on it’s 8th year, the New Balance Power Run emerged bigger and better than ever as 6,500 participants took to the streets of The Fort Bonifacio Global City by the crack of November 29, 2009′s dawn.
Sportspray was there to greet the runners (and their sweaty gear) as they crossed the finish line for the 3, 5, 10, and 21 kilometer events. Among them, cancer advocates and survivors served as beacons of inspiration for the pack as they completed the 3K fun run/walk for cancer with beaming smiles on their faces. And why not when proceeds of the event have been set to support the cancer awareness projects of Carewell Community, ICanServe Foundation and the Philippine Cancer Society? Indeed, the New Balance Power Run proved to be test and testament to the human heart’s endurance in more ways than one. From perspiration to inspiration. To all who made the event a success, salutes from Sportspray!
Sportspray goes Blue
Katipunan Avenue was a veritable sea of blue as the Ateneo de Manila University’s annual Big Blue Run took to the streets last December 6, 2009. From young kids to adults and alumni of all ages, runners of every shape and form strode in in celebration of health, running as a sport, and the university’s much anticipated sesquicentennial anniversary. Of course, where a barrage of runners and sweat-soaked gear abound, Sportspray could not but be a spritz away.
The First Annual Pidol Golf Tournament
November 26, 2009– Sportspray was there as celebrities and guests took to the green in celebration of the country’s King of Comedy’s 65th year in show business. Held in plush Eastridge Golf Club, the first Annual Pidol Golf Tournament was staged by Dolphy Quizon’s children not only to mark a milestone in the actor’s long and illustrious career but to benefit the less fortunate as well. Proceeds of the event are set to go to the Habitat for Humanity in support of their ongoing project called “Repair and Rebuild,” whereby every 7,000 pesos collected will serve to rebuild a home for recently devastated typhoon victims.
Helping while having fun, sporting while supporting a worthy cause. Indeed, the Pidol Cup but echoes Sportspray’s mantra: “Play Clean.”
